Cast Iron Meat Press

Burgers and bacon curl up in the pan, so only part of the meat touches the heat. The result is patchy browning and slower cooking.

This heavy cast iron press holds food flat against the griddle, grill, or skillet. The whole surface stays in contact with the heat, so meat browns evenly from edge to edge and cooks through faster. A wood handle on iron uprights gives you something to grip while the plate does the work.

Choose Round for smash burgers and patties, or Rectangular for bacon strips, steaks, and paninis. Preheat it with the pan, press, and lift it carefully. Care for it like any cast iron, with hand-washing, drying, and a light coat of oil.
