Description
A heavy pan dragged across a glass induction cooktop leaves scratches you cannot polish out, and they build up quickly with cast iron.
This silicone-coated fiberglass mat sits between the pan and the glass. It is thin enough for the induction field to reach the pan, and it takes the scuffs instead of the cooktop. A black geometric print keeps it looking neat on the stove.
Choose a 10" (25 cm) square, a 14" × 10" (35 × 25 cm) rectangle that spans two zones, or a 9.5" (24 cm) round for a single ring. Each has a hanging loop, so it can go on a hook. It is made for glass induction tops only, not gas flame.

Protection for the glass
Grit trapped under a pan base and the ridges on cast iron are what usually scratch glass. With the mat in place, those marks land on silicone you can wipe or eventually replace, rather than on the cooktop itself. It also helps quiet the scrape and clatter of heavy pans set down in a hurry.
The pan still heats
Induction heats the pan through a magnetic field, and a thin, non-magnetic layer lets that field pass. For reliable pan detection, the mat must lie completely flat with no folds or wrinkles. If the cooktop shows a pan error, smooth the mat out or remove it for that session.
