Description

A thin teapot cools quickly and dribbles when you pour, which makes a second infusion more trouble than it is worth.

This Japanese-style ceramic teapot holds about 20 fl oz (600 ml) and keeps the heat even through several steeps. A controlled spout lets you pour a steady stream into each cup, and the underglaze color sits beneath the surface of the glaze.

Use it every day for green, black or herbal tea, in black, white or yellow. Hand-washing is recommended, and a warm rinse before brewing helps a cold pot.

How much tea does a 20 fl oz (600 ml) teapot brew?

About two to three cups, depending on cup size. Warm the pot with hot water first, add the leaves, pour in hot water and steep before serving.

Materials & Care
The teapot is glazed ceramic with an underglaze color, so the color sits under the glaze rather than on top of it. Warm a cold pot with a rinse before boiling water goes in. Wash it by hand and dry it fully before putting it away.
Shipping & Returns
Complimentary standard shipping to the United States and United Kingdom, with no minimum spend. Orders are prepared within 1–3 business days. US delivery is typically 5–10 business days after dispatch, UK 6–10 business days.

Heat-holding ceramic

Heat-holding ceramic

Ceramic warms up slowly and lets go of heat slowly, so water stays at an even temperature while the leaves steep. That steadiness helps when you brew a second or third infusion from the same leaves. Warming the pot with hot water first gives the tea a better start.

Controlled spout

Controlled spout

The spout is shaped to give a steady, even stream, so you can fill two or three cups at the same strength without splashing the table. Slow down at the end of the pour and the flow tapers off with fewer drips running down the side of the pot.
