Description

A blade that drags through a dense carrot or wedges in a sweet potato makes you push harder, and pushing harder is when a knife slips.

This 8" (20 cm) chef knife has a Damascus-pattern blade in high-carbon stainless steel with a heat-treated core. The edge parts dense vegetables rather than compressing them, and the faint ridges along the face reduce the suction that makes potato and cucumber cling.

The handle is contoured for a pinch grip behind the bolster, and the knife arrives in a fitted black storage box. Hand-wash and dry it straight away; the steel will develop a natural patina over time.

Materials & Care
The blade is high-carbon stainless steel with a Damascus-pattern finish over a heat-treated core, paired with a contoured handle. Hand-wash and dry it right after use. Over time the steel may take on a patina, which is a surface change rather than damage.
Shipping & Returns
Complimentary standard shipping to the United States and United Kingdom, with no minimum spend. Orders are prepared within 1–3 business days. US delivery is typically 5–10 business days after dispatch, UK 6–10 business days.

Heat-treated, high-carbon core

Heat-treated, high-carbon core

Under the layered pattern, the blade is high-carbon stainless steel with a heat-treated core. That combination lets it take a fine edge for carrots, squash and onions. Hone it when the edge starts pushing rather than slicing, and sharpen it on a stone when honing stops bringing it back.

A grip made for control

A grip made for control

The contoured handle sits comfortably in a pinch grip, with your thumb and forefinger on the blade just ahead of the bolster. Holding the knife this way keeps the tip steady for mincing herbs and gives you leverage through larger vegetables such as cabbage.
