Description
Rinsing rice in a plain bowl means grains slip down the drain with the water, or you hold your hand against the rim and still lose some.
This 304 stainless steel bowl has fine slots along one side. Swirl the rice in water, tilt the bowl, and the cloudy starch water runs out through the slots while the grains stay inside. Repeat until the water runs clear.
At about 9.5" (24 cm) across, it has room for a family batch of jasmine, basmati or sushi rice, and it rinses quinoa, beans and berries just as well.

Side slots that drain
The slots are placed along the side wall rather than the base. Fill with water, stir the rice with your fingers, then tip the bowl toward the slotted side over the sink. Starch and husk wash away and the grains settle back against the bottom.
Room for grains and produce
A 9.5" (24 cm) diameter fits several cups of rice with space left to swirl. The same bowl rinses lentils, chickpeas or a basket of strawberries before serving. Being 304 stainless steel, it does not hold onto smells from one job to the next.
