Description

Wire grill brushes can shed metal bristles that stick to the grate and end up in food. Baked-on grease still needs something firm to scrub it away.

This gray grill cleaning stone has no bristles at all. Rub the abrasive block over a warm grate, and it scrapes off baked-on grease and char. As you work, the stone wears to the shape of the bars, so it reaches into the grooves where residue builds up.

Use it on charcoal and gas grill grates and on flat griddles once cooking is done and the heat has come down from high. Wear a glove, scrub along the bars, and wipe away the residue. Replace the stone once it is too thin to grip safely.

Scrubbing without bristles

Because it is a solid abrasive block, there are no wires to snap off and stay on the grate. Press it against the warm bars and work back and forth to lift the grease and char. Wipe the grate afterward with a damp cloth to clear the loosened residue.

Shapes itself to your grate

Over the first few uses, the stone wears grooves that match your grill bars. Those grooves let it clean the tops and sides of each bar at once, which gets into spots a flat brush skims over. It works on flat cast iron or steel griddles too.
