Description
Slicing the top off a strawberry wastes a good bite of fruit and still leaves the firm white core behind.
With this stainless steel huller, you push the prongs into the top of the berry and twist. The stem, leafy hull and core come out together, and the strawberry stays whole. You are left with a neat hollow, ready for dipping in chocolate or filling with cream.
It works on tomato stems too. At about 3.5" (9 cm) long, it is quick enough to clear a full carton of berries in a few minutes.

Whole berries, less waste
A knife takes the shoulders of the berry along with the leaves. The prongs grab only the hull and the pale core beneath it, so the sweet red flesh stays on the fruit. Over a full carton, that adds up to noticeably more strawberries in the bowl.
A neat hollow to fill
Each hulled berry has a clean cavity at the top, ideal for a dab of whipped cream, cheesecake filling or melted chocolate. It also sits more steadily on a platter. Use the same push and twist on tomatoes to lift out the stem and the hard spot beneath it.
