Meatballs rolled by hand rarely come out the same size, so some are cooked through while others are still pink in the middle. Your palms also end up coated in mixture.
This stainless steel meatball maker works with a scissor action. Scoop the mixture, squeeze the handles to form a ball and release it onto a tray or straight into the pan. Each portion comes out close to the last, so a full batch browns and finishes together.
At up to about 6.5" (17 cm) long, it sits comfortably in one hand. Use it for soup meatballs, pan-fried batches or trays going into the oven, then wash it while the mixture is still soft.
