Blades lie flat and apart
Wudy Kitchen
A solid wood A-frame knife rack with turned pegs that hold each blade flat and clear of the next.
Knives loose in a drawer knock against each other, and that rolls an edge long before cutting does. This rack lays each blade flat across its own pair of pegs, so no knife touches another.
It stands on the counter as an A-frame instead of clamping to a wall or taking up the footprint of a full block. The knives face you, so you lift out the one you meant to take.
Choose dark ebony or pale pine. Knives are not included. Wipe it with a damp cloth after use and let it dry before the blades go back on.
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Rub in food-safe mineral oil about once a month to keep the wood finish. Do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher.

Why the set
Why the set
It takes one knife per pair of pegs. Because blades lie flat instead of sitting in fixed slots, chef knives, santokus, paring and utility knives all fit.
No. The rack is sold on its own.
Wipe off water rather than letting it sit, and keep the rack off a wet counter. In normal kitchen humidity both woods hold their shape.
Ebony is dark and close-grained, while pine is pale and lighter to move. Both hold knives the same way.
