Why the set
Crush for fresher flavor
Wudy Kitchen
A lightweight resin mortar and pestle for crushing spices, garlic and herbs into fresh pastes in small batches.
Pepper and cumin lose their aromatic oils soon after grinding, which is why a jar of pre-ground spice smells of very little.
Crushing spices as you need them brings that aroma back. This mortar and pestle is made of resin rather than stone, so it is lighter to hold and lift down from a shelf, and it rinses out instead of needing a soak. A pestle also bruises basil into pesto in a way a blade cannot.
It is sized for small batches: a spice blend, a garlic paste, a handful of nuts. Choose Terracotta, Wood Grain, Black Granite or White.
Hand wash with mild soap and rinse grit out of the bowl texture. Dry fully. Not for the dishwasher, open flame or direct heat.
