A number instead of a guess
Wudy Kitchen
A digital instant-read meat thermometer with a fold-out probe that gives a reading in seconds in F or C.
Cutting into a chicken breast to check whether it is done lets the juices run out, and judging by color alone is not reliable. You either overcook it to be safe or put it back on the heat.
This digital thermometer takes the guesswork away. Fold out the probe, push it into the thickest part of the meat, and the internal temperature shows on the display in a few seconds. The reading switches between °F and °C. The USDA recommends cooking poultry to 165°F (74°C).
Beyond roasts and steaks, it is handy for fish, bread, frying oil, and candy. Folded shut, it tucks into a drawer.
Wash the probe with hot, soapy water after it touches raw meat. Wipe the body clean rather than submerging it, and handle the probe carefully after hot oil.
