Description

Fishing fries or dumplings out of hot oil with a slotted spoon is slow, takes several trips, and keeps your hand close to the splatter.

A spider skimmer does the job in one scoop. The wide, shallow stainless steel wire basket lifts a whole batch at once and lets oil or water drain straight back into the pot as you raise it. The long handle keeps your hand well back from the heat.

Beyond frying, it lifts blanched vegetables, noodles, and dumplings from boiling water and skims foam from a simmering stock. Choose from three sizes to suit a small saucepan, a wok, or a large stockpot.

Materials & Care
The basket is woven stainless steel wire on a long stainless handle. The steel resists rust when it is dried after washing. The open mesh rinses clean quickly; check the weave for stuck crumbs before it dries.
Shipping & Returns
Complimentary standard shipping to the United States and United Kingdom, with no minimum spend. Orders are prepared within 1–3 business days. US delivery is typically 5–10 business days after dispatch, UK 6–10 business days.

The open wire mesh lets liquid run off far faster than the holes in a slotted spoon, so tempura and fries come out of the oil already shedding excess fat. Hold the basket over the pot for a moment before moving it, and the food reaches the rack or plate with fewer drips across the stovetop.

Reach that keeps you back

Reach that keeps you back

Deep pots and woks put the hot surface well below the rim, and a short utensil brings your knuckles close to it. The long handle lets you reach the bottom of a stockpot and stay out of the way of popping oil. Add food in small batches to keep splatter down.
