Description

A basket that will not come out of the portafilter turns a quick backflush or deep clean into a struggle. Prying with a spoon handle or butter knife slips, scratches the steel, and can bend the basket rim.

This stainless steel tool is a thin, flat wedge that slides under the basket rim and gives you even leverage, so the basket eases free instead of being forced from one point. Work gently around the rim until it lifts.

It is a cleaning and service tool for your espresso station, not a dosing or tamping accessory. Keep it with your brushes and cleaning tablets.

Materials & Care

Shipping & Returns
Complimentary standard shipping to the United States and United Kingdom, with no minimum spend. Orders are prepared within 1–3 business days. US delivery is typically 5–10 business days after dispatch, UK 6–10 business days.

Even leverage at the rim

Even leverage at the rim

Baskets are held in by a spring clip, and coffee oils can make them stick tight over time. Slip the flat edge between the basket lip and the portafilter, press down on the handle end, and move around the circle a little at a time. Spreading the force keeps the rim round, so it still seals well afterward.

Made for the job, not a spoon

Made for the job, not a spoon

Kitchen spoons are too thick to get under the lip and too rounded to grip, so they skid and leave marks. This tool is thin enough to slide in and flat enough to bear down evenly. It lives at the espresso station so you are not borrowing cutlery mid-clean.
