Description
Uneven tamping leaves gaps in the coffee puck. Water rushes through the weak spots, and the shot comes out thin, sour, or bitter.
This espresso tamper has a flat aluminum base and a smooth wood handle, so you can press the grounds level and firm before every shot. Rest the portafilter on the counter, set the tamper on the grounds, and push straight down until the bed feels solid.
Choose 51 mm, 53 mm, or 58 mm to match your portafilter basket. At about 3.5" (9 cm) tall, it fits comfortably in the hand for daily home use. Wipe the base after tamping and keep the wood dry.
