Why the set
A fine, sharp tip
Wudy Kitchen
A 400-series stainless steel slicing knife with a fine 60° tip, light enough at about 5.3 oz for long slicing sessions.
A dull blade crushes a tomato instead of cutting it and tears herbs into bruised edges.
This 8" (20 cm) slicing knife comes to a 60° tip, fine enough to start a cut in tomato skin without sliding off. The blade is 400-series stainless steel, which resists the rust spots that follow a wet dish rack, and at about 5.3 oz (150 g) it stays light through long slicing jobs.
The length suits a roast, a row of peppers or citrus for drinks. Hand-wash and dry it after use, and keep it away from frozen food, which can roll a fine edge over.
Hand-wash with warm water and mild soap and dry immediately. Keep the edge with a honing steel or whetstone, and store it in a block or on a magnetic strip.

It handles most home roasts, peppers, tomatoes and citrus. For very large cuts of meat, a longer carving knife may be easier.
Use a honing steel between sessions and a whetstone when it starts needing more pressure to cut.
