Pucks leave the portafilter cleanly
Wudy Kitchen
A black espresso knock box with a rubberized bar and lift-out insert that catches spent pucks and keeps the sink clear.
Knocking spent pucks into the sink clogs the drain and leaves coffee grit around the faucet. Tapping them into the trash can gets messy too.
This black knock box sits beside the machine with a rubberized bar across the middle. Rap the portafilter on the bar, let the puck drop and you are ready to grind the next dose. Because the bar is rubberized, the knock is a dull thud rather than a metal clang.
The insert lifts out, so you empty and rinse only the part that gets dirty. Wipe down the outer shell, and empty the box daily so wet grounds do not go sour.
Empty daily, rinse the insert and dry it. Wipe the outer shell. Do not leave wet grounds sitting for days.
