Overview

Induction hobs scratch and scuff easily, and a heavy pan sliding across the glass leaves marks you can't buff out. This mat protects it. Because induction heats the pan itself through a magnetic field, and that field passes straight through a thin silicone mat, you can leave the mat on the hob while you cook: the pan still heats as normal, but the glass is shielded from scratches, sliding pans, and boil-overs.

Two things to be clear about. It's heat-resistant to around 250°C, not fireproof, so don't push it past its rating or dry-heat an empty pan on it. And it's for induction only: on a gas, radiant electric, or ceramic hob the surface gets far hotter and the mat will melt, so never use it on those. Wipe it clean and let it dry.

It protects the glass from scratches and scuffs, stops heavy pans sliding, and catches boil-overs and spills, so a new hob keeps looking new.
