Why the koi pot
Tea you watch, not just drink.
A small scene in every pour.
Wudy Kitchen
A small koi swims in every pour.
500 ml · 2–3 small cups · borosilicate glass
A small koi swims under a lotus leaf, right on the glass. Every pour becomes a quiet moment.
Most glass teapots are made to disappear on the table. This one is made to be looked at. A hand-applied silver-finish lotus leaf and koi sit on the outside of the pot, so as the tea deepens in colour the little scene seems to float in it.
Underneath the detail is a practical brewer: high borosilicate glass that takes boiling water and an open flame, a 304 stainless steel filter that keeps leaves in the pot, and a beak-shaped spout that pours clean and stops clean.
Not included: cups, tray and tea tools shown in photos are for styling.
Because the ornaments are finished by hand, small variations in placement are part of each pot's character.
Let the glass cool before washing and rinse with warm water. Avoid pouring cold water into a hot pot or setting it down on a cold, wet surface straight from the heat. Hand wash for the longest life. Wipe the leather handle with a dry cloth; do not soak it.
