Description

When rust bloom or burned-on carbon will not budge, a soft sponge just polishes over the problem and you end up scrubbing for twenty minutes.

This brush has an emery (carborundum) head, a very hard abrasive grit that grinds through rust, baked carbon and hard-water scale. Use it on cast iron, bare stainless steel, grill grates, oven racks and burner caps. Wet the surface, scrub the stain, then rinse the residue away.

Because the grit is aggressive, keep it well away from nonstick coatings, glass cooktops and soft decorative finishes. If you scrub cast iron back to bare metal, season it again before cooking.

Materials & Care
The head is emery, also called carborundum, a very hard abrasive grit set on a black handle. Rinse the grit residue off both the brush and the pan after scrubbing, and store the brush dry between jobs.
Shipping & Returns
Complimentary standard shipping to the United States and United Kingdom, with no minimum spend. Orders are prepared within 1–3 business days. US delivery is typically 5–10 business days after dispatch, UK 6–10 business days.

Hard grit for stubborn jobs

Hard grit for stubborn jobs

Carborundum is far harder than the fibers in a scouring sponge or the strands in mild steel wool. That hardness lets it cut into rust spots and carbon crust that other tools glide over. A few firm passes on a wet surface usually do what an hour of soaking cannot.

Know where not to use it

Know where not to use it

The same grit that removes rust will strip a nonstick coating or scratch glass in seconds. Save the brush for bare metal where function matters more than shine, such as cast iron, utility stainless and grates. It may leave a brushed look on polished stainless.
