Description
Lifting a hot bowl out of a steamer or pot usually means bunching up a dish towel and hoping your grip holds on the slippery rim.
This stainless steel gripper clamps onto the edge of the dish instead. Squeeze the handles, set the jaws squarely on the rim, and lift. A non-slip pad on the jaw helps keep the dish from sliding while you move steamed eggs, dumplings, soup, or a small bake from the heat to the table.
It is made for rimmed bowls and steamer dishes, not bare pan handles or large, heavy pots. Keep oven mitts nearby for those.

Lift from the steamer
Steamer baskets and deep pots leave little room for fingers or a folded towel around the dish. The jaws reach in, close on the rim, and give you a firm handle to lift straight up and out. Your hand stays above the steam rather than down beside the hot bowl.
A pad where it grips
Glazed ceramic and smooth metal can slip in bare steel jaws. The pad adds friction against the outside of the rim, which helps the dish stay level as you carry it to the table. For a secure hold, clamp the jaws squarely rather than catching just the edge.
